Roy Cantu is a Reporter/Producer for the McAllen Cable Network at the City of McAllen’s Office of Communications. Roy can be seen on Spectrum Channel MCN-1300, the government PEG channel which provides programming involving innovative news magazine style shows, newscasts, public service announcements and stories which inform the community on city issues, projects and events. Mr. Cantu is also a content creator who participates in the social media for the city. Roy has more than 27 years of broadcast television, media relations, marketing and public relations experience. The Office of Communications has won numerous awards at TAFE, IFEA, TAFE and TAMIO. Prior to his career with the City of McAllen, Mr. Cantu was a news reporter for a CBS Affiliate, KGBT Channel 4. He also worked at KURV Talk Radio as a General Assignment Reporter.
