Macon-Bibb County is the the 4th largest city in state of Georgia and is becoming a cultural, transportation, and logistics hub for the region and state.

On July 30, 2011, the voters approved the creation of a new, consolidated government that will serve all citizens living in Bibb County. The new government will be called Macon+Bibb County and will serve as both the municipal and county government.
