About
Ronda Scholting is the Public Information Officer for West Metro Fire Rescue in Colorado, where she serves as a one-person communications "team" for a district that spans two counties and seven communities. She manages everything from social media and media relations to website content, internal training videos, and large-scale community campaigns.
Before joining West Metro, Ronda spent more than two decades in television news as a reporter and anchor, and ten years in corporate public relations. That experience that sharpened her skills in storytelling and connecting with audiences. She’s carried those skills into the fire service, where her work has been recognized with national and international awards for video, writing, and public engagement.
When she’s not juggling social media platforms or producing content in the field, Ronda also deploys across the country as an NWCG PIO2 (Public Information Officer) on national wildfire incidents, and works with fire prevention teams. She’s passionate about helping people understand risks, building trust through transparency, and finding creative ways to tell stories that matter.
