Shara Dee is the first-ever Communications Officer for the City of South Portland, Maine, the state's fourth most populous city. She manages outgoing communications, incoming press inquiries, and serves as the City's Public Access Officer overseeing FOAA requests. She is also responsible for the City's main communication channels, including its website, social media, and community newsletter. Prior to her municipal work, Shara worked in the nonprofit sector with arts, education, and advocacy organizations. She is a lifelong photographer and novice ukulele player who lives in South Portland with her two sons, dog, and six chickens.
