Wendy Smith has managed the Town of Farragut communications department since 2017. She keeps the community informed about meetings, programs, events and services through Town of Farragut websites, print and online publications, social media and traditional media.

She utilizes an extensive knowledge of Farragut government that she gained through covering the town as a community reporter. Prior to her writing career, she spent several years as a graphic designer.

She earned a B.A. in communications and learned to do the Hokie Pokie at Virginia Tech. She is a member of City-County Communications & Marketing Association.

She raised three children with fellow Hokie Eddy Smith. They moved their empty nest to the shores of Watts Bar Lake, where they enjoy kayaking and partying in slow motion on their pontoon.
